Tomie was often asked to contribute recipes for fundraiser cookbooks. It was easy for him to share a recipe because he loved cooking and found it relaxing. The recipe, “Basic Lentil Soup,” is more suited for chilly weather. I can attest it was “delicioso,” as his friend Gene Youngken would say when he thought he was speaking… Italian.
