During the Zoom memorial celebration yesterday, Alan Chong, Director, Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, NH, announced the Tomie dePaola Art Education Fund.
Tomie often said his books championed “the other,” children, young people, and adults in discovery. He advocated for our local college to create space for all artists - painters, potters, dancers, etc. - to gather and be “different” together.
This fund feels so right to me. I couldn’t be happier, and Tomie would have felt deeply honored.
